I'd say use Drive Rescue 4 or something like that, but you'd have to *maybe* hook up the dead MacBook 2015 with another one via Target mode and see if you can revive it. I selected the restore from time machine and connected to external hard drive. ![]() I installed the SSD and I restart the Mac with cmd+R. I did a backup from time machine and placed it on an external hard drive. I bought a Transcend Jet Drive 250 SSD (480Go). iFixit has a nice guide on how to remove the SSD from the logic board hereĪnd yes, I suppose you can get an SSD external enclosure for it, but it won't be cheap. I have a macbook air from begining 2015 with 120Go. ![]() it's totally dead, right? I think the warranty on it is about a year if you don't have AppleCare, and now it's too late to mention getting a backup up and running, and using, right? anyways, apart from calling your local Apple Place and taking it in for service, you may wish to remove the SSD and see if you can put it in an external drive case of some kind and connect it to another mac to try to get the data off of it.
